About Wearside Plastering & Rendering

An independent plastering and rendering business working on homes across Sunderland. Two sides to the work: interior plastering, skimming and repairs, and exterior rendering from local repairs through to complete finishes.

How we work

Most enquiries start with someone describing something they can see — a crack, a hollow patch, a tired ceiling, render coming away near a downpipe. The useful first step is almost never a product recommendation. It’s working out what the surface actually needs.

Sometimes that means less work than people expect: a repair rather than a replaster, one elevation rather than a whole house. Occasionally it means more, and we’d rather say so up front than find it halfway through.

Sunderland houses

Traditional Sunderland cottages, Victorian and Edwardian terraces, red-brick homes, post-war semis and later estates all sit within a few miles of each other here. What’s behind the finish differs just as much — old plaster, plasterboard, painted render, pebble dash, previous repairs.

Working locally means you learn what tends to be behind a wall on a particular kind of street, and you stop being surprised by it.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell render as a damp cure, we don’t skim over plaster that isn’t holding, and we don’t quote exterior work off a postcode. We also won’t put badges, ratings or claims on this website that we haven’t earned — anything listed here is simply what we do.

Where we work

Across Sunderland and surrounding areas including Roker, Seaburn, Fulwell, Monkwearmouth, Southwick, Pallion, Hendon, Grangetown, Ryhope, Silksworth, Ashbrooke, Herrington, with wider coverage around Houghton-le-Spring and Washington depending on the job.

Before You Decide

You don’t need to book anything yet. Sixteen straight answers on skimming, cracks, blown render, pebble dash, coloured finishes, scaffolding and weather — save the ones that apply to your house and come back to them later.
